Patrick Gene Smith, 38, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, July 3, 2014

at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born

July 26, 1975 in Somerset, Ky to Jeffrey Van & Mary Ellen Myers Smith.

He was an employee of Bennett's Carpets. Patrick professed his faith in

Jesus Christ and was set aside as a deacon at Mt. Hope Separate Baptist

Church. He loved fishing.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, A.G. & Okra Smith;

maternal grandparents, Earl & Loeta Myers

Survivors

wife: Stephanie Smith, Russell Springs

3 children: Nancy George, Kaitlyn George, Greg George, all of Russell Spgs

parents: Jeff & Mary Ellen Smith, Russell Springs

sister: Melinda (Waylon) Wright, Russell Springs

2 neices: Madalyn Wright, Catherine Wright, of Russell Springs

nephew: Lucian Wright, Russell Springs

2 aunts: Lela Hix, Princeton, Ky; Paula (Dean) Johnson, Russell Springs

uncle: Joe (Brenda) Myers, Atlanta, GA

Funeral service for Patrick Gene Smith will be 10 AM. Monday, July 7, 2014

at the Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Brown, Bro. Danny

Bailey & Bro. Harold Coomer officiating. Visitation will be after 5 PM. Sunday

at Bernard Funeral Home and after 8 AM. Monday at the church.

Burial in the Phelps Cemetery.
