Lester M. Bradshaw, Sr. passed away peacefully in Zephyrhills, Florida, October 2, 2019

after reaching the age of 86 years.

Lester was born in Russell County, Kentucky to Ivy and Bessie Bradshaw. A gifted basketball

player in high school, he met the love of his life, Regina, at the age of 17. They married in

1952 before having four sons--Lester, Jr., Joe, Jeff, and Bob.

A Korean War Veteran, Lester served in the Army from 1953 to 1955.

In 1962, Lester and his family moved to Maryland, where he cofounded Eastern Tunneling in

1963 and Bradshaw Construction in 1982. Under his leadership, along with four sons, the

company grew significantly over the next several decades, becoming a leader in robotic

tunneling today.

After Lester's retirement, he and Regina moved to Oldsmar, Florida, where he could be found

out on the golf course, fishing with his grandchildren, or simply having a quiet night in full of

card games and endless stories with friends and family. With his easy-going, southern charm,

Lester had a true gift in making everyone around him smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Clela and Thelma; 2 brothers, Leland and

Melvin; and son, Joe.

Lester is survived by his wife of 66 years, Regina; brother, Dean; sister Zona; sister-in-law,

Janet; sons, Bob, Jeff, and Lester, Jr., daughters-in-law, Shannon, Barbara and Kirsten;

grandchildren, Sherrie, Kristi, Sara, Kyle, Elliott, Jordan, Jack, Kathy, Victoria and David; along

with several great-grandchildren, additional family members, and friends

A 10 am viewing and 2 pm memorial service will be held on Monday, October 7 at the Bernard
