Arlis MacArthur Guffey, 71, of Louisville (formerly of Russell Co)

died Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Nortons Brownsboro

Hospital in Louisville.

He was born June 10, 1944 in Russell County to the late William &

Rittie Dykes Guffey.

Arlis was a Veteran of US Army who served as a paratrooper in the

101st Airborne division. He owned and operated Valley Scale, LLC

in Clarksville, Indiana, from 1977 to 2012.

Survivors include

wife of 47 years, Marianne Guffey, Louisville

3 children: Christopher Lynn (Ashleigh Ann) Guffey, Louisville

                  Matthew Scott (Polly Lynn) Guffey, Prospect, Ky

                  Sarah Elizabeth (Emily Nicole) Guffey, Denver, CO

7 grandchildren: Samuel Christian, Madison Paige, Jack Thomas, Noah Scott,

        Caroline Grace, Brooks Alexander, Lila June

6 brothers: Ransom Guffey, Jamestown; Bennie Joe Guffey, Alabama; Billy

         Robert Guffey, Louisville; Jimmy Rogers Guffey, Russell Springs; Daryl

         Eugene Guffey, Texas; Ricky Lawrence Guffey

3 sisters: Myrtle Emily Guffey, Jamestown, Ky

                Edna Doris Hilbert, CA

                Virginia Kay Mena, TN

Preceded in death by a sister: Hadus Geraldine Guffey

Funeral service for Arlis MacArthur Guffey will be 1 PM. Sunday,

December 6, 2015 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation after 6 PM. Saturday and 12 Noon on Sunday.

Burial in the Guffey Family Cemetery with full military honors

by the Russell County Honor Guard.
