Ada Irene Thornton

Ada Irene Thornton, passed away, Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Jean Waddle Care Center, in Somerset.  She was 85 years of age.

Born on October 24, 1937, in Russell County, she was the only child of the late Rinzie and Josie Twyford Foley.  Ada was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.  She enjoyed growing flowers and tending her vegetable garden.  She also loved to spend time with her friends eating out, shopping, and going to yard sales.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Julie) Anderson, of Noblesville, Indiana, and Jimmy (Kathy) Anderson, of Russell Springs; one daughter, Brenda (Harold) Smith, of Russell Springs; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by her first husband, William Anderson, and her second husband, Glendo Thornton.

Funeral services are 1:00 PM CST Friday, December 16, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Joe Sullivan officiating.  Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation for the public will be from 11:00 AM Friday, until the time of services, at the funeral home.
