Arlin E. Godby, of Russell Springs, was born on June 29, 1945, and departed this life on May 20, 2025, leaving behind his beloved wife of 47 years, Gay Swanson Godby.  Arlin was preceded in death by his parents, Eld. Paul Godby and Valeria Owens Godby.

He is also survived by his seven children, Karen (Danny) Loveless, Lori (Kerry) Morrow, Kimberly (Scottie) Weston, Brian (Beckie) Godby, Darin (Misty) Wade, David (Devin) Godby, and Allison (Travis) LaFavers; nineteen grandchildren, Wesley, Bobbie Jean (Mark), Russell, Josh (Karen), Tanner (Amy), Kaycee, Whitney (David), Jonathan (Allie), Mackenzie (Ronnie), Dawson (Justine), Joe, Robert (Katie), Keagan, Logan, Hannah, Lexi (John), Abbie, Riley, and Braydon;  fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Ann (Ronald) Rexroat; and one brother, Michael (Sharon) Godby.

Arlin was a devoted and loving Husband, Dad, and Pa.  Arlin gave his heart to the Lord at an early age and enjoyed witnessing to those he came in contact with.  He was a devoted member of Clearfork Baptist Church where he served as a trustee for many years.  He loved his church family.  He was an advocate for children and was acknowledged for his work in the Always Believing in Children program.

He owned Arlin’s Construction and loved working in the dirt with his machinery.  He also enjoyed going to the lake with his fishing buddy and long-time friend John Wilson, tinkering with old cars, and camping with friends.

He was well loved in his community and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He will be sadly missed by all of his Family and Friends.

Services will be Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Bernard Funeral Home, with visitation from 9:00 AM until time of the service. Bro. Joe Sullivan and Bro.
