Barbara Stephens

Barbara Ann Weir Stephens, of Russell Springs, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at UK Bluegrass Hospice Center, in Lexington.  She was 80 years of age.

Barbara was born May 13, 1942, in Hopkins County, daughter of the late Charles Wallace and Macil Olear Parker Weir.  She retired from Stephens Pipe and Steel as their accounts payable manager.  Barbara loved her job and her friends at work.  She was an avid UK sports fan who enjoyed playing bingo and working crossword puzzles.  Barbara was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Regina (and Rodney) Wright, of Russell Springs; her brother, Eugene Weir, of Galveston, Texas; her sisters, Connie (and Wes) Burgess, of Rantoul, Illinois, Brenda Osborne, of Madisonville, and Kaye (and Dale) Kessler, of Indiana; her step-granddaughter, Laura Beth (and Coty) McGowan; her step-great-grandson, Hunter McGowan; her brother-in-law, Gene McGregor, of Madisonville; a host of nieces and nephews; and her especially beloved puppy, Chloe.

Along with her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Weir; and her sister, Dorothy McGregor.

Graveside services are 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Bernard Ridge Cemetery, with Bro. Billy Silverman officiating.  Pallbearers will be Rodney Wright, Coty McGowan, Terry Stephens, Brian Osborne, Brandon Osborne, and Wes Burgess.
