Betty Jane (Flatt) Roy

Betty Jane Roy, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.  She was 76 years of age.

Born August 12, 1947, in Creelsboro, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Geneva Keaton Flatt.  Betty worked for many years as a manager in the hotel industry and she was raised in the Baptist faith. Survivors include a son, Tony (and Karen) Popplewell of Louisville; a daughter, Melissa Roy, of Taylorsville; a brother, David (and Judy) Flatt, of Shepherdsville; two sisters, Bobby Roy and Linda Kay Flatt, both of Jamestown; three grandchildren, Chelsey Roy, Benjamin Popplewell, and Janet “Jaye” (and Rob) Thompson; and one great grandchild, Kaelynn Long.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lisa Michelle Roy.

Per Betty’s wishes, cremation rites were honored.  A memorial service will be held 12:00 PM CST Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. John White officiating.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM CST.
