Betty Ruth (Stephens) Tucker-Hayes

Betty Ruth Stephens Tucker-Hayes, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 11, 2021.  She was 85 years of age and is now in the arms of our loving God. 

Born January 16, 1936, as Betty Ruth Stephens, in Russell County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Beatrice Stephens.  Betty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a woman of deep faith, and a member of Stithton Baptist Church in Radcliff for over thirty years before joining Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.  Betty worked for Revlon, Russell County Hospital Admissions, and volunteered at the hospital in Elizabethtown. Betty was loved by everyone she knew.

Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Tucker; and a sister-in-law.

She is survived by her second husband, Wayne Hayes, of Elizabethtown; sons, Michael Tucker, of Michigan, Steven (Suzanne) Tucker, of Hawaii, and Bruce (Mary) Hayes, of Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Elizabeth (Gary) Lancaster, of Ekron, Susan (George) Patton, of Elizabethtown, and Rita (John) Riley, of Bowling Green; sisters Joyce (Don) Foley, of Maryland and Peggy (Terry) Loy, of Russell Springs; brother Marshall (Carol) Stephens, of Russell Springs; seven grandchildren, Laura (Darryl) Matherly, Ashley (Adam) Schell, Joshua Miller, Adrian Patton, Georgianna (Drew) Patton-Masterson, Tyler Tucker, and Travis Tucker; eight beloved great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services are 12:00 P.M. CST on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Rev. Adam Schell officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Russell Springs.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. CST on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home. 

Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance.  Facial coverings are required.

Michael Tucker, Joshua Miller, Drew Masterson, Tyler Tucker, Travis Tucker, and Darryl Matherly, will serve as Betty’s pallbearers.
