Carolyn Mae Bolin Hinkle (76) of Russell springs Went to be with the Lord and loved ones on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Jean Waddle Care Center, in Somerset.
Carolyn was born on December 30th, 1949, in Jabez, to the late Ovel and Versie Bolin. Carolyn loved to serve the Lord and sing his praises.
Carolyn was a loving mother, wife, daughter, grandmother and friend. She is remembered by her family as loving, someone who shared lots of wisdom, always had a listening ear, and a prayer to follow. She loved to share her memories and life experiences with her children and grandchildren.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Joel Hinkle; her parents, Ovel and Versie Bolin; mother-in-law Juanita Hinkle Eddington; and a brother-in-law Jim Hinkle.
Survivors include one son, Michael (Mandy) Hinkle of Russell springs; one daughter, Patricia Hinkle (Perry) of Russell Springs; two brothers in-law, Kevin (Becky) Hinkle of Denim Springs, Louisiana and Kent Hinkle of Fairbanks, Alaska; one sister-in-law, Susan (Dean) Schatz of Springhill, Tennessee. Seven Grandchildren, Samantha Sinclair, Brittany Sinclair (Tyler), Mackenzie Hinkle (Aaron), Madelyn Hinkle, Aiden Hinkle, Remington Smith, and Isabella Hinkle; six great grandchildren, Bristol, Tatum, Kamari, Bentley, Hallie, Audrey; the special friends, Betty (Rodger) Radford of Jamestown, Reva Brown (and family), Neal and Randy Wright, Judy Cox, Betty Brumley, and Judy Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
“A winner either way” is something Carolyn would always say.
Funeral services are 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Bernard Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Free Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Bernard Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 7:30 A.M. until the time of services.
Pallbearers are Aaron Steele, Rodger Radford, Neal Wright, Randy Wright, Matt Brown, and Remington Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Joey Dykes and David Bunch.
In lieu of flowers, Carolyn requested that donations of sympathy be made to Free Union Cemetery Fund, c/o Troy Denton, 4994 Allen Schoolhouse Road, Columbia, KY 42728. Donations can also be made at the funeral home.
