Casper Nehez, II, age 86, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Russell County Hospital.
Casper was born on April 24, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Casper and Mary Barto Nehez. Casper was of the Catholic faith and was a proud US Navy Veteran. Casper retired after 30 years as a general foreman for General Motors. He loved fishing, hunting, and playing golf.
Survivors include his wife, Carron McBeath Nehez, of Russell Springs; his sons, Casper (and Susie) Nehez, III, of Greenwood, Indiana, Tom Nehez, of Shelbyville, Indiana; his stepson, James (and Tamie) Hatfield, of Martinsville, Indiana; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Merna Volouar and Gene Pope.
Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Mark Polston officiating. Burial will follow in McBeath Cemetery, with full military honors performed by the Russell County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Donations may also be left at the funeral home.
