Charles Claude Cape, of Jamestown, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was 70 years of age.
Born on April 17, 1950, in Somerset, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Lilburn and Margie Dykes Cape. Charles Claude was the former owner and operator of Russell County Appliance and a school bus driver for Russell County Board of Education. He drove the bus for the Russell County Marching Band for many years. Charles Claude was also a founding member of the Lake Cumberland Antique Auto Club as well as a member of the Ol Boys Toys Auto Club. He attended Russell Springs Christian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Cara Lane Cape (and Winston) Simmons of Simpsonville, Claudia Cape of Bowling Green, and April Dawn Mason of Chickamauga, Georgia; two grandchildren, Lane Marie Cape and Joseph Bailey Mason, III; one sister, Fannie Lou Cape, of Texas; two nephews, Mike Ragle and Steve Ragle; and one niece, Susie Ragle.
Funeral services are 1:00 PM CST on Friday, January 29, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home with Brother Bill Welker officiating. Burial will follow in the Cape Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM CST on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home.
Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings are required.
Gary Carey, Brandon Hubbard, Mike Ragle, Dennis Gosser, Jessie Tucker, Darin Ettner, Kyle Knigga, and Jack Herrington will serve as Charles Claude’s pallbearers.
Derek Coffey, Dale Hubbard, Steve Ragle, and Preacher Tucker will serve as honorary pallbearers.
