Christine McQueary

Christine McQueary, of Russell Springs, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022.  She was 81 years of age.

Christine was born May 28, 1941, in Russell County, daughter of the late Samuel and Luona Higginbotham George.  She married Glenvil McQueary on June 1, 1963.  They celebrated over 58 years of marriage.

She ran her own fabric and glassware businesses. Christine helped Glenvil with auctions and benefits. She loved their time together, whether it was at home, bargain shopping or sight-seeing.

Christine was a private lady who was happy being with her family.  She was a devoted grandmother who would do anything for her grandkids.  She enjoyed cooking and made sure everyone had their favorites:  from drinks to desserts, and everything in between.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (and Randy) Walker, of Bloomington, Indiana, and Teresa (and Barney) Bernard, of Russell Springs; her grandchildren, Bailye Walker, of Bloomington, Indiana, Devin (and Matt) Mayfield, of Sellersburg, Indiana, Zachary Bernard, of Lexington, and Justin Burton, of Russell Springs; and her great-grandson, Braxton Mayfield.

Along with her parents, Christine is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenvil, who passed away May 13, 2022; and her sisters, Elaine George and Diane George.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Russell Springs City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, and on Saturday, after 8:00 a.m., until time for services.
