Clemma Jean Godby, of Elizabethtown, passed from this life Friday, May 22, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin Hospital. She was 85 years of age.
Born September 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Oveline Stephens Eastham. Clemma Jean was a graduate of Russell County High School and in her younger days worked as a clerk at the Russell County courthouse. Throughout the years, she enjoyed many trips to the lake for a day of fishing with her husband, Dual, and sister-in-law Fern. Clemma Jean enjoyed spending time outdoors, taking care of her yard and tending to her flowers. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandson Trenton and following his sporting events while watching him grow up. Clemma Jean and her neighbors loved going to the local VFW post for music and dancing. In 2017, she purchased the dream car that she always wanted, and she took pride in being able to drive her friends whenever they went out for a night of fun. Clemma Jean attended Berean Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.
Survivors include a son, Mark (and Tracie) Godby, Leitchfield; grandson, Trenton Godby, of Bowling Green; and a brother, Kuthbert Eastham, of Russell Springs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dual Godby and a brother, Odell Eastham.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM CST Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Bernard Funeral Home with Brother Randy Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Spring City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 10:00 AM on Wednesday and continue until time of services.
Trenton Godby, Kevin “Butch” Foley, Derek Eastham, Joey Grey, Jamie Richardson, and Jack VanMeter will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hospice organizations in the Elizabethtown area.
