Darlene Luttrell, 83, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her family after a nine-month illness, November 25, 2024. She was born October 2, 1941, in Pulaski County, Ky, the oldest daughter of Orville and Thelma (Doss) Johnson.
Darlene attended Nancy High School. She married her lifelong love Roy Luttrell on August 17, 1957, and they eventually settled in the Windsor, KY community. They celebrated 64 years of marriage on August 17, 2021, prior to his passing. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
She worked very hard throughout her life in the textile industry, as a lifelong caregiver from the age of 13, gardening each year to raise food to can and preserve for her family, she enjoyed working and tending to her flower gardens, traveling with her sister and friends to music events and vacations in Myrtle Beach. She was kind, giving, generous, and loving to a fault, to her family, friends, and anyone in need. She never met a stranger, and those that knew her always expressed how welcoming she made them feel. She was an angel on earth, that now resides in heaven with her one true love.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Luttrell, her parents Orville and Thelma Johnson, a sister, Charlotte Dye, a nephew, Randy Wiles.
Survivors include three daughters, Vicki Luttrell-Uppenkamp (Bob), Debbie Brown, and Sherri Stewart. A sister, Kathy Wiles (Vernon). Two nephews, Rickey Wiles (Monica); Scottie Dye (Stephanie). Five Grandchildren, Kelly Farthing (Marion), Keith Brown, Savannah Lawless (Michael), Victoria Wilson (Myles), and McKinley Stewart. Twelve great-grandchildren: Hailey; Gaige; Brayden; Jordan; Emery; Tayte; Braxton; Carmen; Cloe; Claire; Silas and Abram. One great-great grandchild, Sawyer. Three step great-grandchildren, Skylar; Hayden and Bryson.
A service of remembrance and visitation will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm EST with Bro. Calvin Kerr and Bro. Eric Bennett presiding over the funeral at 1:00 pm EST at Bernard Funeral Home, located at 367 Main St, Russell Springs, Ky 42642.
Pallbearers will include Keith Brown, Gaige Brown, McKinley Stewart, Myles Wilson, Michael Lawless, Calvin Kerr and Emery Kerr.
Interment at Wilkerson Cemetery, 6886 Ky 80, Russell Springs Ky., 42642.
