Obituary

David L. Kiefer, of Russell Springs, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center, in Somerset.  He was 59 years of age.

David was born March 1, 1964, in Jasper, Indiana, son of Otto F. and Dorothy “Sophie” Stevens Kiefer.  He was an employee of Fruit of the Loom, of Jamestown, for twenty-seven years.  David enjoyed woodworking and was known for the walking canes he handmade.  He was skilled with his bow and arrow and was an avid gardener.  David was such a loving person; showing his love for everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Aldene Popplewell Kiefer; his mother, Sophie Stevens, of Manchester; his sisters, Beverly (and James) Davidson, of London, and Charlene (and John) Lovill, of Corbin; and his nephews, Nick Davidson, Aiden Davidson and Jim Tom Keen. 

David is preceded in death by his father, Otto F. Kiefer; and his sisters, Marlene Kiefer, Brenda Swindell and Marcia Jones.

There will be no services held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Bernard Funeral Home to offset final expenses.
