David Lee Scott, 42, passed away on February 10, 2025. He was the loving father of Nadine Ruth Scott. He was the son of the late Mary Scott. He is survived by his father Carl Scott, sister Brenda Bowden (Robert), stepmother Beth Scott, and stepsister Julie Grunwald (Stefan with daughter Stella). David grew up in Medina County, Ohio and served over 14 years in the Army before being honorably discharged to retirement.
He joined the Army the summer of 2001 and graduated boot camp the week before September 11. He spent years overseas in Jordan, Qatar, and South Korea. He was trained in Patriot Missiles and Air Assault. David received many decorations, medals, badges, citations, ribbons, and awards, including the Audie Murphy Award.
David loved traveling and seeing the world. He enjoyed telling stories, his Beer Group buddies, cooking brisket for friends and family, he was a bourbon enthusiast, and watched every Ohio State football game. David's heart belonged to his daughter Nadine, and he adored his dog Treasure and cat Lou Who. He will be sincerely missed by Chrissy Clark Minton (Eric), Nadine's mother. He genuinely made people smile.
Please join his family and friends at Calvary Separate Baptist Church at 7660 West Highway 80, Nancy, KY 42544 on February 28, 2025 at 1:00 pm EST for a Celebration of Life service, officiated by Chaplain Dean Collins of the American Legion Post #38. Bring your favorite story about David to share. Following the service, he will be inurned at Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 West Highway 80, Nancy, KY 42544 at 2:30 pm, with full military honors being conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard. A reception will be held back at the church following the inurnment.
