Dean Paul Ettner, 87, Passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, in Russell Springs, Kentucky.
Dean was the loving father to Darin Ettner, Penny Ettner Kinney, Shelly Ettner Talley, and Donna Radcliffe; grandfather to six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle to many nieces and nephews; cousin, and friend to many.
Dean was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on March 2, 1938, to Harold and Lois Ettner. He attended high school at Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. Dean married Gloria Proctor and they had three children. He spent most of his working career in construction in Indianapolis and in St. Louis. Dean loved fishing, had a passion for landscaping and animals, and hanging out at the corner bar with friends. He never knew a stranger.
Dean moved to Jamestown, Kentucky in 2017, where he lived out the remainder of his life. He was baptized at Russell Springs Christian Church, was a member at The Springs Methodist Church, and more recently, became a member of Pleasant Hill Community Church. Dean attended every performance Darin and Joyce were involved in at the Star Theater and even purchased and donated a new lobby screen to the Star. He loved his Jamestown family and friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Lois Ettner; brother, Terry Ettner; sister, Peggy Ettner Behrens; nephew, Chris Ettner; and niece, Shannon Ettner Dabney.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM CST Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Community Church, with Bro. Dennis Price officiating. The church is located at 8535 S. Hwy 1680, Jamestown, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM CST, until the time of the service, at the church.
