Debbie Shearer

Debra Lynn “Debbie” Shearer, of Russell Springs, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, in Somerset.  She was 63 years of age.

Debbie was born December 2, 1958, in Louisville, daughter of the late Albert and Ethel Mae Sharp Shepherd.  She worked for several years at Fair Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Jamestown.  Debbie stayed busy working all the time, as long as her health allowed.  In later years, every chance of a day off, Debbie would take her family out to eat.  She loved being with her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her sons, Billy Wayne (and Leann) Shearer, Jr. and Casey (and Jessica) Shearer, both of Russell Springs; her daughter, Angel Shearer, of Russell Springs; her sister, Linda (and Kenny) Shepherd, of Shepherdsville; her grandchildren, Dakota Shearer, Erica Shearer, Taylor Shearer, Gage Shearer, Candias Little, Joseph Jennings, Jr., Deziree Shearer, Kellie Hawkins, Brandon Upton, Jazzlynn Upton, Katelynn Upton and Isabelle Upton; her nieces, Mona Miller and Rhonda Mattingly; and her nephews, Glen (and Debbie) Miller and Dean Shepherd.

Along with her parents, Debbie is preceded in death by her brother, Ray Shepherd; her sisters, Shirley Thomas and Carol Sullivan; and her nephews, Steve Miller, Chuck Terry and Larry Terry.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. CST, Friday, November 18, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Larry Johnson and Bro. Caleb Shirley officiating.  Burial will be in Bullitt Lick Cemetery, in Shepherdsville, at a later date. 

Visitation will be held after 12:00 noon CST, on Friday, until time for funeral services.
