Eddie Gene Lee

Eddie Gene Lee, 78, formerly of Russell Springs, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home in Greenwood, Indiana, on Friday, June 14, 2024.

Eddie was born December 4, 1945, in Russell Springs, Kentucky to Edward C. and Alice J. (Wilson) Lee.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Mary F. (Antle) Lee, son Donnie D. Lee, daughter Tammy T. (Lee) Stewart (Casey), four grandchildren- Chad Lee, Whitney Lee, Ashley Lee, Catlin Eskridge, two step-grandchildren- Cody Stewart, Caley Stewart all of Indianapolis, Indiana, Aunt Edith Wilson of Russell Springs, Kentucky. Also, by four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Earl Lee, Kevin M. Lee, sisters Norma L. (Lee) Jones, Mary Jane (Lee) Wesley, and a host of extended family members.

Eddie was a terrific husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a man of many different enjoyments, Hunting, Fishing, Golfing, and most of all his family. Eddie spent time in the Airforce in the Vietnam war, at which time he leaned on this faith in God to lead him through those times and bring him into God’s plan for him in this life on earth. He had many jobs over his lifetime; he worked at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company, Cutty Hase Cheese Factory, he a was Truck Driver, Russel Sports Wear, Standard Brands, Nabisco, and Conagra Foods.

For the biggest part of his work career, he held different levels of maintenance job titles. He and his wife enjoyed being the host of many of the companies 25th Century club parties. He was a man of few words but the words he spoke were strong and had lots of meaning to those who listen.

Many times, throughout this process he would say to the family, to remember that the living have to keep on living and to take care of each other and to remember to take care of yourself.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation ~ Whiteland Chapel.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 24th from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Bernard Funeral Home, located at 367 N. Main Street, Russell Springs, KY 42642, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 P.M.

Eddie will be laid to rest at New Friendship Cemetery on Jericho Road in Russell Springs, Kentucky, will full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard.
