Edith Aaron, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Summit Manor Nursing Home, in Columbia. She was 91 years of age.
Born at home on August 4, 1933, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Edra Smith Shaw. Edith was blessed to be a homemaker and enjoyed her life working at home. She loved being a mom and raising her four children. Edith took pride in growing a big garden. She was a “giver” at heart and always willing to share her abundant harvest. Edith had accepted Jesus as her Savior and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include a son, Phillip Aaron, of Jamestown; two daughters, Wendy Weiand and Carol (and Charlie) Roy, both of Russell Springs; a brother, Keith Grider, of Jamestown; three grandchildren, David Weiand, Melissa McGowan, and Jeremy Roy; a sister-in-law, Fannie Shaw, of Russell Springs; and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Aaron; a daughter, Judy Aaron; three brothers, and a sister.
Per Edith’s wishes, cremation rites were honored.
A gathering of family and friends to honor her memory will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Bernard Funeral Home.
