Eleanor Mae (Rexroat) Sullivan

Eleanor Mae Sullivan, of Russell Springs, passed from this life on Monday, September 1, 2025, at her home. She was 73 years of age.

Born on December 8, 1951, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Maggie Harris Rexroat. Eleanor retired from Russell County Hospital as a Pharmacy Technician after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a longtime member of Beckham Ridge Separate Baptist Church. Eleanor had a servant’s heart and would always be there for her family and friends when they needed help. She was young at heart and enjoyed playing with her grandbabies and spending time with her family. Eleanor loved the outdoors and enjoyed the simple things in life- the flowers in her garden, the changing of the trees with the seasons, just admiring God’s creation.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Joe (and Keila) Sullivan, of Russell Springs, and Angela (and Ron) Rexroat, of Piedmont, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Austin (and Sarah) Sullivan, of Russell Springs, Dillan (and Olivia) Sullivan, of Russell Springs, Madison (and Dalton) Parker, of Piedmont, South Carolina, Harrison (and Dianna Mospanyuk) Rexroat, of Piedmont, South Carolina, and Bryson Rexroat, of Piedmont, South Carolina; and eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way. She is also survived by her brother, Rick (and Joyce) Rexroat, of Shelbyville, Indiana; her sister, Brenda (and Jimmy) Luttrell, of Russell Springs; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Gary David Sullivan, who passed away on February 11, 2019.

Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Bernard Funeral Home, with her son, Brother Joe Sullivan, officiating. Burial will follow in Free Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Bernard Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Saturday, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.

Pallbearers will be Austin Sullivan, Dillan Sullivan, Dalton Parker, Harrison Rexroat, Bryson Rexroat, and Ron Rexroat.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to the Gideons International or Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, Kentucky 42503. Donations may also be made at the funeral home.
