Freda Whittle, of Russell Springs, departed this life on August 22, 2024, at UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center, in Lexington. She was 59 years of age.
Born April 7, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Fred Graves and Agnes Couch Kovacs. She was employed as a horse groomer, specializing in mane pulling, at various local horse farms. Freda had a deep passion for rebuilding and repairing her own vehicles. With a particular affinity for classic cars, she often participated in car shows. She enjoyed karaoke and moments spent by the creek with her three beloved fur babies and her partner of 26 years, Christopher Whalen.
In addition to her life partner, Christopher Whalen, Freda is survived by three daughters, Kelly Perez Robertson (Travis), and Stacy Perez, both of Columbia, and Talitha Whittle; four sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Collett and Linda Thompson (Terry) both of Hazard, Phyllis Luallan, of Memphis, Indiana and Patricia Botkins, of New Albany, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Kayla McBeath, Ethan Akers, Jaylin Birdwell, Benjamin Mattingly, Abigail Robertson, Phoenix Perez, Antonio Perez, Keturah Perez, Max Whittle, and Alex Warriner; one great grandchild, Kalli Jo Crigger; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, Geza Kovacs; two sisters, Janet Knowland and Jennifer Goins; and a brother, Thomas Collett.
A Celebration of Life for Freda will be held by the family at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Russell Springs City Park.
