Gary Lee “GJ” Jasper, of Jamestown, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was 68 years of age.
Born on November 27, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was a son of the late Ora and Norma Shepherd Jasper. Gary was a former employee of B&H Auto Parts and later retired from the State Highway Department. He was a member of Creelsboro Christian Church. GJ loved being outdoors, riding his horses, and hosting gatherings at “the barn” near the river in Creelsboro.
Gary is survived by his sister, Linda Hughes, of Russell Springs; and a host of family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Jasper.
Funeral services are at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Johnny Dunbar and Brother Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org. Donations can also be made at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are R.C. Miller, Larry Reeder, Tom Smith, Wade Reeder, Gary Lawless, James Fugate, and Darrell Burton.
