Gene “Scotty B” Branham, 60, passed away on March 11, 2025, at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky. In his final moments, his daughter Elizabeth, was by his side, offering love and comfort.
Born on May 2, 1964, in Louisville, Kentucky, Scotty was the son of Bobby Gene Branham and Anna Joyce (Hilbert) Branham. He was a talented and accomplished welder who took great pride in his work.
Scotty had a deep love for the Louisville Cardinals and, in his younger years, enjoyed hunting. His greatest passion, however, was fishing—a love he inherited from his mother. He was also an excellent cook who found joy in canning during the summer months. Scotty had a big heart, especially when it came to babies, and he embraced life with an adventurous spirit. He loved motorcycles, good food, and making the most of every moment.
His favorite saying was, “You only got one go around this bitch.” And he truly lived by it.
Scotty is survived by his beloved daughter, Elizabeth McMullen, and his three cherished grandchildren, Jaxton, Peyton, and Emma. He is also survived by his brother, Steven “Troy” Branham (wife Lynne), and their sons, Channing and Stephen Branham.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 21st, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, Kentucky. Flowers are welcome and may be sent directly to the funeral home.
Scotty’s laughter, love, and unforgettable presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Bernard Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.bernardfuneralhome.com.
