Georgia Daphine Lawless Edmonds, 88, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, died Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at her niece’s residence. She was born September 20, 1936, in the Mt. Eden Community of Russell County, to the late Frank and Ila Emerson Lawless. She was the second of nine children.
She worked for GE in Louisville, Kentucky, for many years before moving to Russell County. Until recently, she was a caregiver for many elderly adults in the county. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and especially her pet dogs. She also enjoyed going to Mt. Eden church, which was her childhood church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Willodene Bernard, Barbara Edmonds, Eloise Owens and Janit Burchett; and by her brother, Michael Lawless.
She is survived by her sisters, Wanda Brown, of Russell Springs, and Beckie (and Mike) Acey, of Somerset; and a brother, Bruce (and Connie) Lawless, of Russell Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by four children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at her final earthly resting place, Salem Cemetery, with Brother Myles Wilson officiating. If you would like to do something in memory of Georgia, please consider donating to your local animal shelter.
