Herman Wyatt Atchley

Herman Wyatt Atchley was born on August 18, 1958, in Somerset, Kentucky, to Homer Atchley and Errie Hughes Atchley. He parted this life on May 16, 2025, at his home, in Eagleville, Tennessee, making him 66 years, 8 months, and 28 days.

After graduating high school, Herman attended Lincoln Tech to become a mechanic. He worked as an auto mechanic in Russell Springs and Bowling Green. Then he went to Textron Aero Structure in Nashville, Tennessee, later moving to Bridgestone in Lavern, Tennessee as the lead maintenance mechanic. He was employed at Bridgestone for 38 years.

He also enjoyed farming and playing with his grandson, Noah. He built his own house from the ground up. You might say he was a jack of all trades. He was a talented man who loved to work.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Theresa Cooper Atchley; one daughter, Tabitha (Tyler) McBride; one grandson, Noah Austin McBride; two brothers, Hershel (Joyce) Atchley and Howard (Susan) Atchley; one sister, Connie (Bruce) Lawless; two nieces, Brittany Dootson and Christina Williams; four nephews, Junior Stephens, Jedidiah Lawless, Benjamin Lawless, and Richard Atchley; and many cousins and friends.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Herman will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services are 12:00 P.M. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Square Oak Separate Baptist Church, with Brother Troy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Square Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Bernard Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Monday, from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at Square Oak Separate Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Jedidiah Lawless, Benjamin Lawless, Richard Atchley, Hershel Atchley, Cody Turner, and Wes Bryant.
