We are saddened to announce the passing of Isaiah William Gomaz, of Jamestown, who passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at his home. He was 19 years of age.
Isaiah was born Tuesday, February 7, 2006, in Somerset, son of Carrie Miller Johnson. He was a kind young man, a “gentle giant”, a devoted son. Isaiah has loved the game of football since elementary days and was the proud wearer of the Russell County High School Lakers jersey #66. Isaiah was a senior at Russell County High School and was set to graduate with his 2025 graduating classmates. His friends he amassed in his 19 years are numerous, from schoolmates to football colleagues to online gaming friends; all of whom mourn his passing.
He is survived by his mother, Carrie Johnson (and Sean Blackaby); his brother, Malachi Gonzalez; his uncle and aunts, Keith Hodge, Melissa Miller and Dusty Miller; several cousins; many special friends; and his little dachshund “Oscar”, who Isaiah adored.
Preceding Isaiah in death are his grandparents, Shirley Miller and William Miller.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Nick Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Rexroat Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith Hodge, Sean Blackaby, Tim Blackaby, Jordan Hunt, Shannon Johnson and Raul Ramirez.
Visitation will be held after 11:00 a.m. Saturday, until time of funeral services.
Arrangements for Isaiah William Gomaz are entrusted to Bernard Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.bernardfuneralhome.com
