Ms. Ivodean Bernard, of Russell Springs, passed from this life on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Fair Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Jamestown. She was 84 years, 2 months, and 19 days of age.
Ms. Ivodean was born in Dunnville, on Tuesday, May 14, 1940, daughter of the late Oliver Cromwell and Tamzy Louisa Whitehead Rodgers. She was a hardworking lady who spent years working full time at the sewing factory or as a cook for the Russell County Board of Education, before coming home to work on her family’s farm. Ms. Ivodean was a member of the Willow Oak Church of Christ.
She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers; and loved to spend any spare time sewing and painting.
Ms. Ivodean is survived by her sons, Timothy (and Lecil) Bernard, of the Philippines, and Tyler (and Amber) Bernard, of Dunnville; her daughters, Kim (and Matt) Wyatt and Wendy (and Michael) Blair, both of Russell Springs; her brothers, Jimmy Rodgers, of Junction City, Doyle Rodgers, of Russell Springs, Noel (and Vickie) Rodgers, of Windsor, and Joseph Rodgers, of Russell Springs; her ten grandchildren; and her eleven great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack G. Bernard; and her sister, Tyona Collins.
Funeral services for Ms. Ivodean Bernard will be held at 1:00 p.m. C.S.T. on Monday, August 05, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. James D. McDonald officiating. Interment will be in Thomas Ridge Cemetery, in Dunnville.
Pallbearers will be Matt Wyatt, Matthew Wyatt, Dale Rodgers, Denton Rodgers, Josh Wilkey, and Bryan Berwanger.
Visitation will be held after 11:00 a.m. C.S.T. on Monday, until time for funeral services, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thomas Ridge Cemetery Fund. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
