Janis Holt

Peggy Janis Holt, of Russell Springs, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Greenview Regional Hospital, in Bowling Green.  She was 84 years of age.

Janis was born in Russell County on September 25, 1937, daughter of the late Robert “Bert” and Tressie Anderson Bottom.  She was a sweet, generous Christian lady who was known to have given the coat off her back.  Janis was loved by everyone who met her, especially children.  She would always have a house full of children, most being someone else’s.  Kids wanted to spend their snow days and summer’s off from school days at her home.  Janis loved all of her family deeply.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Holt, of Russell Springs; her daughter, Karen (and Rex) Eads, of Russell Springs; her sister, Jeanette Wolford, of Russell Springs; grandchildren, Brandon Eads (Brandi) and Timothy Eads, both of Russell Springs; great-grandchildren, Dante, Adrian, Paisley and Finn; special nieces and nephews, Teresa Wolford, Eric Wolford, Joel Wolford, Sherry Daniel, Myles Bottom,  Stephen Bottom and Myra Bottom Hinson; and her special friend, Margaret Lawless.

Along with her parents, Janis is preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Bottom, Veston “Bocky” Bottom and William “Billy” Bottom; her niece, Sandra Miller; and her former husband and father to her children, Kenneth Leon Holt.

Funeral services are 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Phillip Miller and Eric Wolford officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Rex Eads, Brandon Eads, Timothy Eads, Eric Wolford, Joel Wolford and Adam Daniel.

Visitation will be held Monday morning in the funeral home chapel, after 11:00 a.m., until time for services.
