Joan Carol Shaw

Joan Carol Shaw, of Russell Springs, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Metcalfe Care Center, in Edmonton.  She was 67 years of age.

Joan was born Thursday, April 18, 1957, in Russell County, daughter of the late Refus Dowell and Ada Mae Coffey Gentry.  She was a member of Coffey Hill Friendship Church.  Joan loved her family, sons and grandkids with all her heart.  She was a homemaker who liked to drink her coffee.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry Shaw and Randall Shaw, both of Russell Springs; her sister, Judy Campbell, of Columbia; and her granddaughters, Ryann Lilith Shaw and Briar LeAnn Shaw.

Along with her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry “Can-Man” Gentry and Eldon “Peanut” Gentry; and her sisters, Wanda Rhoten and Ella Johnson.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Clear Springs Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held after 12:00 noon Sunday, until the time of funeral services.
