John David Barr, Jr., of Russell Springs, passed away at Jewish Hospital, in Louisville, after a long illness. He was 54 years of age.
Born March 20, 1969, in Henderson, Kentucky, he was the son of the late John Barr, Sr. and Sharon Tripp Sullivan. John was the former owner of B & B Underwater Logistics and Lake Cumberland Canvas. He enjoyed turkey hunting and spending time on the lake. John attended Pleasant Hill Community Church.
Survivors include a son, Colton (and Chaley) Barr, of Russell Springs; a daughter, Brittany Barr (and Dan Thorne), of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sisters, Elaine (and Charlie) Buis, of Russell Springs, Melissa Hill, of Russell Springs, and Stephanie Alexander, of Livingston, Texas; four grandchildren, Kian, Rylan, Cameron, and Lillianna; his stepmother, Sue Barr, of Jamestown; a stepbrother, Sean Brown, of Steamboat, Colorado; as well as several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM CST, Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Hood officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, until time of services on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in John’s memory to Bernard Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
