Joyce D. Reese

Joyce D. Reese, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was 70 years of age.

Born on September 15, 1950, in Russell County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Oda Franklin and Velna Chumbley Oakes. Joyce was a homemaker and long-time member of Free Union Separate Baptist Church. She loved her family. Joyce enjoyed playing the piano and sewing.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Reese of Russell Springs, whom she wed on August 10, 1968; one son, Kenvie (and Jennifer) Reese of Somerset; one grandson, Mason Reese; one brother; and five sisters. Joyce is also survived by two special family members, Katlyn Ison and Ernest Bishop; and a special friend, Fannie Shaw.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by one brother.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 21, 2020, at Bernard Funeral Home with Brother Clifton Cowan and Brother Matt Cowan officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Monday, December 21, 2020, at Bernard Funeral Home.

Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings are required.
