Kendell Hoover, of Russell Springs, passed away on Sunday, November 02, 2025, at his home, with his family at his side. He was 74 years, 4 months, and 11 days of age.
Born on June 22, 1951, in Somerset, he was a son of the late William Oscar and Dolene Atchley Hoover. Kendell was a cattle farmer and owner/operator of Hoover’s Excavating for over 25 years. He was a faithful member of Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church. Kendell loved being outdoors fishing and with his cattle. Kendell will be remembered as being gentle, calm, soft-spoken, and easy-going. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Kerr Hoover, who he married on October 21, 1976; his children, Terry (and Jodie) Hoover, of Las Vegas, NV, Christy (and Preston) Richardson, of Russell Springs, and Sherri (and Jeron) Wall, of Somerset; five grandchildren, Dustin Stephens, of Russell Springs, Kenna (and Brandon) Thompson, of Russell Springs, Kamryn (and Austin) Coffey, of Russell Springs, Ashten Wall, of Somerset, and Caleb Wall, of Somerset; three great-grandchildren, Julia Thompson, Briggs Coffey, and Caroline Coffey; and his brother, Wendell Hoover, of Russell Springs.
Funeral services are 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 05, 2025, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Randy Brown and Brother Garnett Hammond officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Terry Hoover, Jeron Wall, Preston Richardson, Caleb Wall, Scott Hoover, and Travis Dixon.
Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Oaks, Adam Kerr, Erick Espinal, Brandon Thompson, Austin Coffey, and Jeffrey Kerr.
