Le Cristha Denise Clendenin Obituary

Le Cristha Denise Clendenin, of Russell Springs, passed from this life on Friday, November 1, 2024, at her home.  She was 71 years of age.

Denise was born on Wednesday, December 3, 1952, in San Luis Obispo, California, daughter of the late Douglas and Le Cristha Granade.  She grew up in a family business; Denise and her siblings, along with her parents, helped manage, bake and cook at many different establishments.  A blind date to see the Easy Rider movie began a courtship, then marriage to Douglas Clendinin, Jr., on December 18, 1971.  Denise and her newlywed husband, an enlisted man in the United States Air Force, moved with his orders to Okinawa, Japan.  This move began Denise’s love to travel and see new places.  After Doug’s retirement, the couple traveled the United States for eight years in their RV, which led to their finding Russell Springs.

Denise was an avid crocheting artist.  Her towel-tops, “lap-ghans” and afgans she would generously give to others.  Her roots in her family’s businesses led to her love to cook and bake around the holidays for her family.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Doug; their daughters, Rachel L. (and Charles) Sarafin, of Campbellsville, Emily (and Ron) Mathias, of Lompoc, California, Holly Eden, of Kuna, Idaho, and April (and Justin) Tolliver, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; her brother, Douglas (and Rene) Granade, of Shingle Springs, California; her sister, Rhonda Handal, of Sacramento, California; her grandchildren, Audry, Joshua, Benjamin, Rylee, Ryder, Bethany, Kaylee (and Derek), Zander, Charlie, Evelyne, Douglas and David; and her great-grandchildren, Alayna and Avery.

No public services will be held at this time.
