Leroy McQueary, of Russell Springs, passed from this life Thursday, June 5, 2025, at his home. He was 74 years of age.
Leroy was born Sunday, April 22, 1951, in Eli, son of the late Curtis and Thelma Tucker McQueary. He was a truck driver and an auto body repairman by trade. He and his son, Lee, owned and operated Royville Auto Sales for years. Leroy was a car enthusiast, especially classic cars. He was Somernites Cruise member #607, remaining a faithful attendee from the show’s onset. He loved motorcycles and drag racing, but perhaps his love for ice cream could outdo them all.
He is survived by his children, Lee (and Jill) McQueary, Mary Lea Lutz and Annessia McQueary, all of Russell Springs, and Tim McQueary, of Indiana; his sisters, Glennda (and Terry) Hunton, of Bowling Green, Linda (and Glen) Hines, of Somerset, and Audrey (and Billy) Badgley, of Bowling Green; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Leroy is preceded in death by his brothers, Archie McQueary, Aldon McQueary and Eddie McQueary; and his sister, Gladys Easterling.
Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Michael Carnes officiating.
Visitation will be held after 11:00 a.m. Saturday, until time of funeral services.
Arrangements for Leroy McQueary are entrusted to Bernard Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.bernardfuneralhome.com
