Mark Anthony Hopper, of Russell Springs, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026, at his home. He was 46 years of age.
Born December 14, 1979, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a son of the late Mary Jo Whittle Hopper and Lowell Hopper. Mark was employed as a manager at Neat Steel at the time of his passing. He had also worked in the past building dirt track race cars, even ones for the well-known Bobby Labonte. Mark was known for his passion for raising and running beagle dogs and had won numerous awards with his beloved dogs. He also enjoyed farming, dirt track racing, and tractor pulling events. Mark was a wonderful son, and a great friend to many, but to his sister, he was the “best bubby ever.” He will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his father, Lowell Hopper, of Russell Springs; sister, Becky Hopper, also of Russell Springs; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Claude and Faith Hopper, and maternal grandparents, Irvin and Ilith Whittle.
Funeral services are 1:00 PM Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Joe Gosser and Kendell Hopper officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
Visitation for the public will begin after 9:00 AM Thursday morning and continue until time of services.
