Mavadene Harris Obituary

Mavadene Bennett (Gregory) Harris, of Russell Springs, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 87 years of age.

Born on April 23, 1938, in Russell County, she was the daughter of the late Elmo and Edith Roy Bennett. She was a devoted housewife and mother. She loved and rendered her given talent to playing guitar for her family and friends until sickness robbed her ability to play. She loved pranking jokes on people, mainly her daughters, to ensure laughter and humor. She was adamant in her decisions in life and always there in support for her family. Mavadene made a profession of faith in Christ on July 21, 1956. Her membership resides with Old Liberty Community Church, on highway 92, in Russell Springs.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Regena Antle, LaDena McGowan, and Vanessa Antle (and Kevin), all of Russell Springs; four stepdaughters, Debbie Edwards, Nelda Beard, Tonya Young, and their families of Campbellsville; and Lisa Land and her husband, of Louisville; one brother, Jerry D. Roy (and Paula), of Russell Springs; four grandchildren, Kelly Loy (and Patrick), of Jamestown, Jamie Reichardt (and Arthur), of Buda, Texas, Megan Chapman (and David), of Nashville, Tennessee, and Dylan Antle (and Elizabeth), of Russell Springs; six great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and nine step great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mavadene was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harris, who passed away on March 7, 2010.
