Ola Jean Bottom Prock

Born September 23, 1926 in Eli, Kentucky to parents Elmer and Fronia (Blair) Flanagan. Jean passed away March 5, 2022, at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville, Indiana. 

She had 4 brothers who have passed and is survived by 1 sister, Emmaleu Demirjian.  In March 1946, Jean married Philip Bottom.  He preceded her in death in 1995.  They had two children; daughter, Claudette Bottom Darden and her children are: 1. Samm Darden and his wife Stephany and their children are, Claire Judy and Willa Kathryn, 2. Esther Lenore Darden, 3. John Darden and his wife Jessica, 4. Emily Darden Carney and her husband, Richard, 5. Tim Darden and his wife Stephanie and their daughter, Roselyn Jean.  Son, Philip G. Bottom and his son, Skip Bottom and his wife Mandy and their children, Cam and Lyla.

Jean married Sterling Prock, October 1997.  She moved from Kentucky to Indiana where she and Sterling lived until her passing.  She became step-mom (Special Mom) to Sterling’s 3 children: Richard and his wife Glenda; Brenda; James and his wife Debra.  There are 11 grandchildren and spouses; 30 great grandchildren and spouses; 7 great- great grandchildren, with 2 on the way.

Jean was a member of the Baptist Church her entire life until moving to Indiana where she attended the Clayton Christian Church.  If you ever met her, it didn’t take long before you knew her love for Jesus.

Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday March 11, 2022, at Conkle Funeral Home, Avon Chapel.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m.  A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Eastern Time Saturday March 12, 2022, at McBeath Cemetery Russell Springs, Kentucky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International or American Cancer Society.
