Phyllis Janet Richards was born July 13, 1947, in Columbia, and passed away on September 26, 2022, in Lexington.
She was a retired homemaker who had resided in Russell County her entire life, and was loved by many.
Ms. Richards was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chesley and Lizzie Richards.
She is survived by her sister, Ann Richards Johnson; a nephew, David (and Barbara) Barnett; and a niece, Lisa Grider. She is also survived by a great-niece, Amber Grider; a great-great-nephew, Braydon Grider; a step-great-niece, Heaven Sutton; a great-great-niece, Nevaeh Duncan; and a great-great-nephew, Dashawn Duncan.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home for graveside services in Grider Cemetery at 12:00 noon. Bro. Leonard Pierce will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be David Barnett, Dashawn Duncan, Mark Barnett, Jackie McGowan, Darrin McGowan and Leonard Pierce.
