Raymond Bernard

Raymond Bernard, of Russell Springs, passed from this life on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Russell County Hospital.  He was 75 years of age.

Raymond was born at home in Russell County on June 11, 1948, son of the late Roy and Lona Belle Kinnett Bernard.  He married Janette Copley on June 16, 1968.  There were three children born to their union. 

He enjoyed collecting a variety of items, whatever he could see having value in the future; guns, old die cast cars, Avon bottles, comic books, and old records, just to name a few.  Ramond loved watching old westerns, wrestling, Kentucky basketball and Vanna White (and Wheel of Fortune).  He loved his dogs.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Janette; his children, Dale Bernard and Karen Bunch, both of Russell Springs; his brothers, Lynn (and Donita) Bernard, of Lexington, Larry Bernard, of Nashville, Tennessee, and Ricky Bernard and Phillip Bernard, both of Jamestown; his sisters, Doris Birdwell, of Jamestown, Janice (and Ronnie) Kerr, of Russell Springs, and Betty Bernard and Sue (and Andy) Bell, both of Jamestown; his grandchildren, Derek Bernard, of Russell Springs, Jordan Godsey, of Jamestown, Lucas Andrew, of Lexington, and Calvin Bernard and Justin Bernard, both of Russell Springs; his great-grandchildren, Paige Grimsley, Londyn Bernard, Kynzlee Bernard and Ashlee Grimsley; and his sister-in-law, Deborah Bernard, of Jamestown.

Along with his parents, Raymond is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Bernard; and his brother, Roger Bernard.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Bobby Dunbar officiating.  Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and after 8:00 a.m., Thursday, at Bernard Funeral Home, until time for funeral services.
