Raymond Vernon Ford

Raymond Vernon Ford, of Russell Springs, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at his home. He was 82 years of age.

Born on December 16, 1943, in Russell County, he was a son of the late Rufus and Laverne Roark Ford. Raymond was a self-employed auto mechanic, who enjoyed tinkering on both cars and lawnmowers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Malone Ford, of Russell Springs; his daughters; Teresa (and Ronnie) Popplewell, Sherri (and Harold) Stapleton, and Kimberly Ford (and Martin Camp), all of Russell Springs; his grandchildren, Josh (and Crystal) Popplewell, Megan (and James) Bailey, Skylar (and Kaitlyn) Stapleton, Nicolas Popplewell, Liley Stapleton, Brayden Passmore, and Spencer Camp; and his great-grandchildren, Jaxon Fulk, Kaeden Moore, Azlynn Moore, Addison Popplewell, Garner Stapleton, and Gentry Stapleton. Raymond is also survived by his brothers; Ronnie (and Rosanna) Ford, of Russell Springs, and Randy (and Marilyn) Ford, of Elizabethtown; his sisters; Arlene (and Paul) Bernard, of Russell Springs, Geraldine Johnson, of Russell Springs, and Cheryl (and Asa) Wooten, of Jamestown; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Robertson.

Funeral services are 1:30 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Asa Wooten and Brother Ronnie Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of services at Bernard Funeral Home.

Josh Popplewell, Skylar Stapleton, Nicolas Popplewell, Brayden Passmore, Jaxon Fulk, and Kaeden Moore will serve as pallbearers.
