Ronald Dean DeHart, Sr., of Russell Springs, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Russell County Hospital. He was 65 years of age.
Born on February 16, 1959, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Clifford and Nellie Rose Lee DeHart. Ronald was a former foreman and supervisor for Tarter Wood Products. Ronald loved to be outdoors fishing and riding horses. He was always laughing, telling jokes, and singing. Ronald loved the Lord and had strong faith in God. He always said that “God would see him through.”
Ronald leaves behind his beloved wife, Sherrie Gossett DeHart, of Russell Springs; two sons, Billy Eric (and Kasey) DeHart, of Columbia, and Ronald Dean (and Sarah) DeHart, Jr., of Dunnville; two sisters, Nancy (and Leland) Stevenson, of Nancy, and Pam Smith, of Dunnville; and eight grandchildren, Harley Dean DeHart, Chase Clifford DeHart, Noah Aaron DeHart, Kallie Lynn DeHart, Arabella Grace DeHart, Jenna Moses, Josselyn Moses, and Ben Anderson.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Glen DeHart; and his sister, Lois Wilkerson.
Per Ronald’s wishes, cremation rites were honored by Bernard Funeral Home.
There will be a private family memorial service held at a later date.
