Skyler “Sky” Colton Huckaby, of Columbia, passed away April 20, 2025, at Russell County Hospital, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 14 years of age.
Born September 29, 2010, he was a son of Barry Huckaby and Goldie Brown. Sky was an 8th grade student at Adair County Middle School. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America, and he attended Free Union Separate Baptist Church. His family considered him to be a true “country boy”. Sky had a big heart for those in his life and that was evident by how much he loved his family. He dreamed of one day becoming a police officer and serving the community. Sky had a wonderful personality, and he was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Survivors include his father, Barry (and Angela) Huckaby, of Albany, and his mother, Goldie Brown (and Jarrod Wheat) of Columbia; five brothers, Devin Huckaby, Landon Huckaby, Austin Mercer, Dawson Huckaby, James Edwards, and Alexander Edwards; six sisters, Kisha Huckaby, Savannah Mercer, Elizabeth Edwards, Elizabeth Brown, Breannah Huckaby, and Bailey Huckaby; maternal grandparents, Jack Sr. and Barbara Brown, and Al Clements and Linda Patton; and paternal grandparents, Harley and Margie Huckaby, and Roger and Brenda Thacker.
Funeral services are 12:00 PM CST Friday, April 25, 2025, at Free Union Separate Baptist Church, 4600 Sano Road, Columbia, with Bro Craig Huddleston officiating. Burial will follow in Free Union Cemetery.
Visitation for friends and the public will be 5:00-8:00 PM CST Thursday at the church, and will resume at 9:00 AM Friday morning, until time of services.
Carson Cooper, Kyle Montgomery, Abby Corbin, Silas Cole, Kayden Johnson, and William Brockman will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to offset the funeral expenses. These can be mailed to Bernard Funeral Home, P.O. Box 308, Russell Springs, KY 42642.
