Stephen Lee Thomas

Stephen Lee Thomas, of Jamestown, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at his home. He was 73 years of age.

Born on August 11, 1950, in Somerset, he was a son of the late Delmas Lee and Wilma Blair Thomas. Stephen was a retired Recreation Director for Lake Cumberland State Park and member of Jamestown First Baptist Church. Stephen enjoyed hunting and was a true outdoorsman. He dearly loved his family and friends, and his dog, Riley.

Stephen is survived by his children, Kyle Thomas and Tonya Bryant, both of Columbia; his grandchildren, Jacob (and Tiffany) Pierce, of Jamestown, Christian Grider, Corey Thomas, and Natalie Thomas, all of Columbia; and his great-grandchildren, Jaden Pierce and Emmy Jo Grider. Stephen is also survived by his brother, Stan (and Tina) Thomas, of Jamestown; and his sisters, Shelah (and Danny) Johnson and Sondra (and Chris) Powell, both of Russell Springs.

Funeral services are 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Jon Tyler White officiating. Burial will follow in Hale Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday, at the funeral home.

Stephen’s pallbearers are Corey Thomas, Christian Grider, Chris Powell, Mark Weston, Stuart Johnson, and Ed Von Gruenigen.

Stephen’s honorary pallbearers are Danny Johnson, Jacob Pierce, Kerry Thomas, and his Sunday School class at Jamestown First Baptist Church.
