Teresa Lynn (Burd) McElroy

Teresa Lynn McElroy, of Russell Springs, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at her home. She was 70 years of age.

Born on December 16, 1953, in Russell Springs, she was a daughter of the late Ruel and Clorine Taylor Burd. Teresa was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and playing video games with her grandbabies. Teresa had a great sense of humor and loved all animals, especially her cats.

Teresa is survived by her son, Jon (and Amy) McElroy, of Russell Springs; her grandchildren, Nathanel McElroy, Adrian McElroy, and Madison McElroy; her great-grandson, Owen James Kimes; and one great-grandchild on the way. 

In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Darry Dale McElroy, who passed away on September 27, 2022; and her sister, Pat Stiegler.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Tony Stephens officiating. A private family inurnment will take place in Russell Springs City Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 4:30-7:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503. Donations may be made at the funeral home.
