Tina Marie Popplewell

Tina Marie Popplewell, of Russell Springs, passed from this life Friday, March 27, 2026, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, in Somerset.  She was 66 years of age.

Born January 23, 1960, in Streator, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Karen Shepard Gallup. Tina was an energetic spirit who lived her life to the fullest. She had a heart of gold for those around her and spent many years working as a CNA.  Tina enjoyed playing Bingo, reading a good book, and going riding on the motorcycle with her husband, Nicky. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed being able to feed her family delicious meals she prepared for them.  Tina was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her family was the center of her life and the most important thing to her.  She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Survivors include her husband, Nicky Popplewell; two sons, Christopher (and Natalie) Popplewell, of Streator, Illinois, and Nicky (and Ashley) Popplewell, Jr., of Lostant, Illinois; a daughter, Brandy (and Robert) Merrill, of Burlington, Kentucky; a brother, Mark Gallup, of Elkhorn, Wisconsin; a sister, Terri Gallup, of Streator, Illinois; ten grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Gallup.

Cremation rites were honored, according to Tina’s wishes.  A Celebration of Life will be held by her family on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
