Travis Hale of Russell Springs completed his earthly journey surrounded by his family on October 18, 2024. He passed from this life to his forever home with the Lord he so faithfully served for many, many years.
Travis, affectionately known as Prock, was born August 19, 1934, to Leonard and Sallie Rae Hale, both of whom long preceded him in death. He retired from the State Hwy Department after many years of service but was perhaps most well known for his fried fish at Coe’s Steakhouse and the numerous fish fries he hosted with his friend Terrill Stephens.
A lifelong member of French Valley Church, his first love and priority was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, followed by his loving wife, Nadean Grider Hale, who also preceded him in death after 43 years of marriage.
His greatest source of pride and achievement was his daughters, Beverly Collins, Pam (Billy) Mann, Kathy Sue Hale, all of Russell Springs, and Barb (Joe) Coffey of Jamestown and his grandchildren: Kimberly, Terry II, Brandie, LeighAnn, and Joe Tyler along with several great and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Stephanie.
He is also survived by his sister, Wanna B. Wilson of Russell Springs as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews including a special niece and caregiver, Danita Riter.
Visitation for Travis “Prock” Hale is Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 5-8PM at Bernard Funeral Home. Funeral service is Monday, October 21, 2024 at 1PM with visitation until time for the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to French Valley Church. Donations can be left at the funeral home.
Prock will be missed by many and Hales Hwy may never be the same.
