Uldine Loy

Ms. Uldine “Auntie” Loy, of Russell Springs, passed from this life Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at her home, having attained the age of 96 years, 3 months and 9 days.

Auntie was born at home in Russell County on August 31, 1928, daughter to the late Ovis and Audra Antle Holt.  She was a homemaker and simply loved it. Auntie attended Royville Friendship Church for many years; she loved her Jesus, her family and her friends with passion.  If you knew her, you would know her greatest joy in life was giving to others; Auntie always gave of herself and if you needed her, she was there.  She was never negative, creating a positive influence on all lives she touched.

Auntie loved to cook, especially for people she loved.  She quilted and crocheted and was a seamstress, sewing on a treadle sewing machine for many years, for herself and others.

She is survived by her brothers, Larry (and Deanna) Holt and Stephen (and Mary Ella) Holt; her sister, Phyllis Hamblin; her daughters, Sie Finnegan and Pat (and Dan) Gonnella; her daughter-in-law, Mary Loy; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her long-term caregiver, Michelle Godby.

Along with her parents, Ms. Auntie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Loy; her sisters, Janette Rogers and Arlene Grider; her son, Fred Loy; her nephew, Lucas Holt; her brothers-in-law, Noel Rogers, Winston Grider, Lloyd Thomas and Berry Hamblin; and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Holt.

Funeral services are 12:00 noon CST Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Mark Hale and Bro. Charles Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow in Russell Springs City Cemetery.  Active pallbearers are Barry Grider, Randy Grider, Greg Yanders, Joe Mohin, Scott Holt and Kevin Stephens.  Honorary pallbearers are Diego Cabera, Matthew Roy, Aaron Roy, Jackson Jeffries, Brian Stephens, Darren Johnson, Joe Roy and Terry Hardesty.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. CST Saturday, and will continue until the time of funeral services.
