Vergene “Jean” Sullivan Flanagan, of Russell Springs, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Jean Waddle Care Center, in Somerset. She was 88 years of age.
Born on June 1, 1937, in Eli, she was a daughter of the late Otsy Elmer and Cardova West Sullivan. Jean was a retired factory worker, having worked at both Russell Sportswear and Fruit of the Loom. She was a loving mother and a hard worker. When Jean was not working, she would rather be at home, spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Greg Flanagan, of Russell Springs; her brother, Garris (June) Sullivan, of Russell Springs; her sisters, Buarldene Polston, of Russell Springs and Catherine Wind, of Houston, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Garth Dean Flanagan; her brother, Otis Sullivan; and her sister, Verlene Hammond.
Cremation rites were honored by Bernard Funeral Home.
