Virginia Gay Stevens, of Russell Springs, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Russell County Hospital. She was 84 years of age.
Born on January 20, 1941, in McCreary County, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Grace Hines Shepherd. Jenny was a talented seamstress; previously a factory worker at Fruit of the Loom, as well as a small business owner, making custom boat covers. She had great love for her family, her dog Tobie, and for fishing, when she was able to.
She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Paul Stevens; a step-son, Ed Stevens; nephews, Mike, Gary, Jeff, and Earl Shepherd, and her niece, Susan Marlow.
In addition to her parents, Jenny was preceded in death by her son, Randall Matthews; her brothers, Tab, Munk, Johnny, and Randolph “Ran” Shepherd; her sister, Corennia “Tina” Johnson; a niece, Leah Wilson; and a nephew, Mitchell Marlow.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM CST on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Rick Stump officiating.
